Backing Up TaxWorks Files
  1. Click on the File menu and select Backup (figure 1).

  2. The Backup screen has several options for you to customize your backup preferences (figure 2).

    Refer to figure 2 above for items a through e.

    1. Last Backup Set Created – Displays the date and time of the last backup.
    2. Backup To – Allows you to select the path where you would like to store the backed up files.
    3. Client Files From Data Path Name – Select the path name where the client files are currently stored.
    4. Select Files to be included in the Backup Set – Select any of the following items to back up by placing a check in the box next to the item.
    5. Do not prompt on exit – If you do not want the Backup screen to appear each time you exit the program, place a check in this box to suppress that feature.
      • Note: We reccomend leaving this unchecked and preparing a backup whenever you close the program.

  3. Once you have selected the appropreate options on the Backup screen click ok to prepare the backup. When it's finished, if you did not check to backup everything, you will be asked if you would like to backup more (figure 3). If you checked to backup everything the backup window will close.
