  1. Click on Start, All Programs, TaxWorks 2008, and select Support Tool (figure 1).

  3. This will open the Support Tool (figure 2).

  1. Repair Client File – This tool is used to remove possible corruption from a client (*.clt) file.
  2. View Zip Files – Selecting this option will open a text file showing the installed version of each system as well as the upgrade server version (figure 3).

  4. Check Administrator Rights – Selecting this will verify if the current Windows user has been give administrative rights (figure 4).

  6. Set File to Read/Write – Selecting this will open up a window to browse for a particular file (figure 5).

    • A message will appear confirming the file was set with Read/Write permissions (figure 6).

  8. Set Directory to Read/Write – Select this option to set an entire directory with Read/Write permissions (figure 7).

    • A message will appear confirming the directory was set with Read/Write permissions (figure 8).

  10. Exit – Selecting this option will close the support tool.
