When copying client files between non-networked computers you may not want to use removable disks or drives. If the non-networked computers have an active Internet connection, you can use the Upload feature located on the Client Selection screen.
- On the Client Selection screen, tag the desired clients and click the Upload icon (figure 1), or click on the Utilities menu and select Upload Clients (figure 2).

- An Upload Clients screen will appear. From here you can select to upload the return to the TaxWorks Support Team or to an Account Number. Select the Account Number option. The Upload Filename field will now be active. Assign this client, or group of clients, a filename. You will need to remember this name as it will be needed to retrieve the uploaded clients. When you have input a filename, click Upload (figure 3).

- A TaxWorks Communications window will appear. When the Status field indicates that the upload was successful, click the Close button (figure 4).

- Once you are on the receiving computer, click on the Download button located on the Client Selection screen (figure 5).

- This will open the Download Clients screen. Enter the desired filename in the File name to Download field. Select the option to either duplicate existing client files or overwrite existing client files with the same SSN as the ones being downloaded. Then click Download (figure 6).

- A message will appear asking if you would like to remove the client(s) from the server. If you would like to remove the client(s) from the TaxWorks servers, click Yes. If you do not want to remove the client(s) from the TaxWorks servers, click No (figure 7).

- A TaxWorks Communications window will appear. When the Status field indicates that the download was successful, click the Close button (figure 7).

- The downloaded clients will now show on your Client Selection screen (figure 9).
