How to customize the colors in TaxWorks.

This feature will allow you to customize your colors while working in the program.

  1. Click the Settings menu and select Colors (figure 1).

  3. The follow Change Colors screen will then appear (figure 2).

    Refer to figure 2 above for items a through e.

    1. These are the Background Color Settings. Clicking on the color next to the description will allow you to change the color setting. The background color settings available to be changed are:

      • Focused Field Background
      • Empty Estimated Field Background
      • Empty Field with Value Last Year Background
      • Detail Statement Field Background
      • Normal Field Background
      • Input Screen Background

    2. These are the Text Color Settings. Clicking on the color next to the description will allow you to change the color setting. The text color settings available to be changed are:

      • Estimated Field Text
      • Updated from Last Year Text
      • Normal Text

    3. Clicking on this Defaults button will return all the color settings back to the original default colors set by TaxWorks.
    4. Clicking OK will save any changes you have made and close the Change Colors window.
    5. Clicking Help will open up the program helps to the Colors section.

  5. Once you have clicked the box for the area of the program you wish to change the color for, the color pallet screen will appear (figure 3).

  7. To use a basic color, click on that color and then click OK (figure 4).

  9. To customize colors, click Define Custom Colors (figure 5).

  11. Enter new values in the Red, Green, Blue, Hue, Saturation, and/or Luminescence color models, or select the desired color. After the color has been selected, click on the Add to Custom Colors button (figure 6).

  13. After clicking the Add to Custom Colors button you will see the custom color on the left side of the window under the Custom colors section. You may select this color and click OK to set it for the color setting (figure 7).
    • Note: You may save up to 16 colors before the colors start to override one another.
