Refer to (figure 1) above for items a through o.

  1. Security – This feature is used to setup users/passwords, secure folders, and other security features for the program.

  2. Find Zip Code – This feature allows you to look up a city, state, or zip code.

  3. List Business Codes – This feature opens up a window that lists all the business codes. These codes are listed for use on various tax forms such as 1040 Sch C.

  4. Support Tool – This feature is a tool used to perform different program maintenance and adjustments.
      5. Note: Only use this feature when directed by Technical Support.

  5. Client File Editor – This feature will allow you to view the different input and output file calculations in a client file.
      6. Note: Only use this option when directed by a Technical Support agent. Any changes made here will affect the return.

  6. Browse CD-ROM – This feature allows you to view the files located on the TaxWorks CD-ROM in a Windows Explorer format.

  7. Explore TaxWorks – This feature allows you to view the TaxWorks folder on your working drive in a Windows Explorer format.

  8. Log Files – This allows you to view any error logs.

  9. Command Line – This feature is used to perform special functions within the program. For example, transferring assets from a 1040 to a 1065 can be done through this feature.

  10. Initial Configuration Wizard – This will open the Initial Configuration wizard, where you can input your company information, setup security and download access codes.

  11. Import From eGLWorks – This will allow you to import accounting information directly from eGLWorks®.

  12. Import from Creative Solutions – This will allow you to import accounting information directly from Creative Solutions®.

  13. Import from Easy Acct – This will allow you to import accounting information directly from Easy Accounting®.

  14. Import from QuickBooks – This will allow you to import accounting information directly from QuickBooks®.

  15. Import from Other Acct. Software – This will allow you to import accounting information directly from other accounting software.
