After you have installed TaxWorks 2008, you may choose to install additional systems. Please note that all systems and states that you intend to use will need to be installed on your computer. We highly recommend installing from the internet when you install so you will receive the most up-to-date version. However, if you do not have an internet connection you can install from a CD.

1. Click on the Installations menu and select Install Systems (figure 1) or click on the Start menu, All Programs, select TaxWorks 2008 and click on Install Systems (figure 2).

2. The System Installation window will then open up (figure 3).

3. You may now tag any federal and state systems you wish to install (figure 4).

4. Once you have the appropriate system(s) tagged you have two options for installing them:

1. Installing From the Internet

• To Install From Internet, once you have checked the appropriate systems click the Install From Internet button (figure 5).

• During the installation process you will see a TaxWorks Communications window that will show you the progress of the systems being installed (figure 6).

• When the installation is complete you will see at the top of the window a 'Transmission Completed' message and a Status of Success. Notice you will also see the Transmission Time. Once you have reviewed everything, click Close (figure 7).

• Once you click Close you will see the Upgrade Process window. This will show you the Downloading, Patching, Distributin, and Installing progress (figure 8).

• Once the Downloading, Patching, Distributing, and Installing are complete you will be taken back to the System Installation Window. Click Close and TaxWorks will automatically open up (figure 9).

2. Installing From a CD

• To Install From CD, once you have checked the appropriate systems click the Install From CD button (figure 10).

• During the installation process you will see a window on the screen that will show which system is being installed (figure 11).

• When the installation is complete the following window will pop up asking if you would like to check for upgrades for the newly installed systems. If you wish to do this click Yes, if not, click No (figure 12).
Note: In order to check for the latest upgrades for the newly installed systems, you must have a valid internet connection

• After clicking No or after the upgrades, you will be taken back to the System Installation Window. Click Close and TaxWorks will automatically open up (figure 13).
