How to resolve EF Audits. These audits are required to be resolved before a return can be electronically filed.

- Upon review of a return marked for electronic filing, certain audits may appear in red text. These are EF audits (figure 1).
- Each EF audit is designed to help prevent a return from being rejected. Most EF audits also have a description of the possible rejection as well as suggestion and link to fix the problem (figure 1).

Example Audits Fix
- Federal Invvalid or Missing Taxpayer PIN
- To fix this audit, go to the General Information input screen. Clicking the Fix Now link for this audit will take you there automatically.
- Under the Electronic Filing and Direct Deposit Information section, there is a box for the Practitioner PIN program, enter a PIN for the Taxpayer (figure 2).

- To fix this audit, go to the General Information input screen. Clicking the Fix Now link for this audit will take you there automatically.
- Under the Electronic Filing and Direct Deposit Information section, there is a box for the Practitioner PIN program, enter in the PIN for the ERO (figure 3).

- Federal Practitioner PIN Missing Signature Date
- To fix this audit, go to the General Information input screen. Clicking the Fix Now link for this audit will take you there automatically.
- Under the Electronic Filing and Direct Deposit Information section, there is a box for the Practitioner PIN program, enter in the Signature Date (figure 4).
